| Tank & Rast manages its business
portfolio via three segments: Petrol stations, Service Areas and Self-operated
sites. This structure reflects the wide product and service offering of Tank
& Rast’s 720 service outlets. The company offers its visitors a
portfolio that ranges from petrol, food and beverages, retail outlets, overnight
stays in hotels, to further products and services. The network of petrol
stations and services areas is managed through a franchise system where
the operations along the autobahn are predominantly rented by tenants. Petrol Stations This segment currently comprises about 340 petrol stations where Tank & Rast, together with its tenants, offers petrol, diesel and gas, retail outlets, bakery shops, coffee bars, snacks and slot machines. Additional services are modern Sanifair lavatories. Service Areas This segment includes about 370 restaurants (incl. 50 hotels) which offer customers food and beverages and overnight accommodation. As of April 2006, Tank & Rast introduced more than 180 bakery counters, 140 pasta bars in cooperation with Barilla and close to 160 coffee bars. Self Operated Sites This segment currently comprises round 10 service areas that are directly managed by Tank & Rast. Here, the company tests new concepts, trains new tenants, improves under-managed sites in order to release them to new tenants, or manages sites for an interim period when tenant‘s activities have ceased due to unforeseen circumstances. |
